XML functionality and enhancements to existing features, such as Web services (SOAP) support.
SQL Server 2005 introduces SQLXML 4.0, which continues to deliver the same functionality as SQLXML 3.0 plus additional updates provided to accommodate new features introduced with Microsoft SQL Server 2005, such as the XML Data Type. The technology bridges the gap between XML and relational data. You can create an XML view of existing relational data allowing you to work with it similar to an XML file. Microsoft Collaboration Data Objects (CDO) is a technology for building messaging applications.
For example, CDO and Active Server Pages enable you to add scripts to a Web site to
provide support for creating, sending, and receiving e-mail.
CDO for Windows 2000 (CDOSYS) is the standard API for building Web-based messaging applications on Windows 2000 Server. CDOSYS provides enhanced functionality over CDONTS. For more information on CDO, visit Microsoft Developers Network Website. For more information on CDOSYS and a roadmap of CDO, visit Microsoft roadmap for CDO Article. |
