DiscountASP.NET Launches Automated On-Demand SQL Database Transfer Tool for SQL 2005 Hosting

August 8, 2006 - ASP.NET Hosting and SQL hosting leader, DiscountASP.NET, announces SQL 2005 hosting service enhancements with the launch of an automated Attach MDF File Tool. This SQL 2005 tool facilitates the transfer of local SQL 2005 Express and local SQL 2005 databases to the hosted production SQL 2005 database, and is available as part of the SQL Tool Suite in the DiscountASP.NET control panel at no additional cost.

"We have seen an increase in the number of customers who develop with the freely available SQL 2005 Express on their local environment. However, since SQL 2005 Express support is not recommended in a production shared hosting environment, many developers are experiencing some difficulty in migrating their schema and data to a live hosting environment." said Takeshi Eto, VP Marketing.

With this new SQL 2005 Tool developers can detach their local SQL 2005 Express or local SQL 2005 database and upload the MDF file to their web site. By specifying the location of the MDF file and the target hosted SQL 2005 database, the MDF File Tool will automatically attach the MDF file to the hosted production SQL 2005 database. This SQL tool can be run in an on-demand basis.
