What is Active Server Pages (ASP) Web Hosting?

Microsoft Active Server Pages (ASP, Classic ASP, ASP 3.0) is an older Microsoft server-side scripting environment that is fully supported in DiscountASP.NET's web hosting platform. Microsoft Active Server Pages enables HTML pages to be dynamic and interactive by embedding scripts, i.e. either VBScript or JScript. ASP pages with the file extension .asp are processed on-the-fly by the webserver, and any browser can render ASP pages as the resulting output is standard HTML.
